With just a few weeks to go, the nursery is finally complete. Above the crib, I could not figure out what to do. This is attempt two of two. The first was a series of flower-covered letters that spelled out "DREAM." Instead, I found a few lightweight frames and painted them white. Inside are wooden letters painted in a glittery pink.Lila will be named after my great-aunt. My mom had this small boot lapel pin that belonged to her. It now hangs in a small shadow box as a reminder of how she got her name.Lila's middle name will be Dallas, after my husband's late sister. Inside this shadow box, I put the outfit that was made for her back in the 1960s. It's another sweet reminder of her special name.I have seen this time and time again on Pinterest. Ikea spice racks turned bookshelves. My sweet husband spray painted them for me. All of my other painting projects, I was able to use craft paint. I love them!
The "LOVE" letters were another craft project. I picked up the raw wooden letters, and with a little Mod Podge and glitter, it was perfect. You can see a similar process with my wedding shoes here.A few more details about the nursery :: The walls were painted in "Rockabye Baby" from Lowe's. With the exception of the crib (it was given to us), all the furniture came from these fine folks at Pedigo Furniture.
